npm is already at version 2.5.1 and Ubuntu is still packaging version
1.4.21 which was released in July 2014. Version 2.0 introduced
significant improvements in terms of its run-script functionality and on
other areas. It's a potentially backwards-incompatible upgrade though.
Theoretically, according to this guide:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVDs it's
also necessary to run the following command:
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh
I did that, but I still can't play dvds. I also get the same error about
Add. Sense: Read
After running the previous command the only difference is that dmesg no
longer shows the Add. Sense errors. In fact there are no erros, but
XBMC still hangs in the Loading part when trying to playback a DVD.
Using vlc to play the same DVD works fine though.

I'm not sure this bug's causes are the same as that bug (#1263205),
because there it says the problem is caused by installing a GTK3 library
from 14.04, and in my case I haven't installed that library or Gnome
Shell. Just plain old default 13.10.

This isn't really a bug because it is possible to see the contents of

Keyboard shortcuts for workspace switching lost after
If I'm not mistaken this only affects non-Administrator user accounts.
It is happening on my fresh installation of 13.10.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Create a new unprivileged user using the User Accounts control panel
2) Login with this new user account
3) Try to share a folder with Nautilus
I'm not sure it's upgrades that cause this issue, because I'm also
experiencing loss of custom keyboard shortcuts. I think the reverting of
keyboard shortcuts back to their default values happens at every reboot,
although I think it doesn't always happen.

Stupid question, you already answered it in the bug report.
Another fix is going to the indicator and clicking on the correct
