Hi Jeremy,
I got the same results as Josh, but I don't think 2.6.33 solves the problem -
it is just old (from 25-Feb-2010) and doesn't recognize the touchpad same as
2.6.32-18 and older 2.6.32 kernels.
My guess is that with these kernels the touchpad is not recognized and a
generic driver is

Problem is that it's not a simple solution as it involves to download
about 500MB in packages in order to build ALSA!.
500 MB?!? Don't go this way, you only need to download and build alsa-
driver.

The bug is fixed is in alsa-driver-1.0.23 release, so we just have to wait for
it to get updated http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/alsa-base
Daily sapshot alsa-driver-20100415.tar.gz from Takashi Iwai worked for me.

That's not a bash bug, it is bug of whoever added /usr/bin/X11/
directory as link to current directory (i.e. it points to /usr/bin/ just
look at the contents of /usr/bin/X11 and you'll see they are the same as
/usr/bin)
$ ls -l /usr/bin/X11
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1 2010-03-27 16:22 /usr/bin/X11 -
I meant removing the redundant /usr/bin/X11/ link, not /usr/bin/
P.S. I'd never suggest something as stupid as deleting /usr/bin/

I have the same issue with Kubuntu 10.04 beta and kernel

For me the crash occurs right after I choose Reboot or Shut down from
KDE Application launcher menu. It shows that plazma-desktop crashed with
Segmentation fault and after few seconds

I have the same issue with Sony Vaio VPC EB1E1E and ATI Radeon 5470. With HDMI

Tried also with VGA cable and my monitor (Samsung T200) doesn't even recognize

Touchpad vertical scrolling doesn't work after upgrade to 2.6.32-19
After upgrading to linux-image-2.6.32-19-the sound is missing again :(
When I boot the previous 2.6.32-18 kernel I still have sound, so the
issue is somewhere in the kernel changes.
