Another Ubuntu release and this is still broken. To reiterate - in
theory using decrypt_keyctl as shipped by Ubuntu solves the problem. In
practise it results in an unbootable machine because the mechanisms used
to ask for the password do not work.

More precisely, it appears that usb-creator-gtk selects the valid ISO
with the oldest file creation date. If this file is moved to a
different folder, the next oldest date is selected. It also appears not
to allow selection of ISOs in other than the original browse directory
if a valid ISO
I am talking about my PPA builds, *not* the Ubuntu supplied package
which is always dreadfully out of date. When I use pbuilder locally
everything builds fine. The same dsc when running on Ubuntu's PPA build
mechanism is adding D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 the wrong way.
dh_pycentral is used because the
@Scott: the problem is not the addition of the flags. I have no problem
with them being added, being different for PPAs or anything like that.
The problem is that the flags are added in an *invalid way*. See a more

i still have this issue on quantal/3.5.0-25 on a Dell Vostro 3350.
bt is Atheros AR3011, id 0cf3:3005.
After resume from standby, bt won't work anymore, even not via service restart.
Even worse, powertop reports that the bt device is using 100% power, which
would explain the increase of idle
I experience similar issues on quantal with gnome-fallback. I have
yakuake and camera-monitor in my autostart, and for half of the boots,
the get started twice on login. camera-monitor then rants and quits,
while the two yakuake processes seem to block each other and have to be
killed manually.

I'm still working on the different os boot, but I have noticed the following in
the meantime:
- ttyS4 shows it belongs to root, and is in the tty group. All the other ports
are in the dialout group. What does this mean? If that is a problem, how do I
fix it?

I did disable on board sound in the BIOS, no help.

upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10 and desktop will not operate

About the sharing of IRQ 17, which is hardware (?), this machine also
runs in Windows 7 (completely separate hard drive, not seen in Linux),
and the modem works fine there. So would Ubuntu treat this differently
than Windows 7? I'll look in a few minutes about if this is in the
BIOS, don't think

OK, I tried both lines. System would not boot with pci=routeirq
added. It would boot with pci=nocrs, but again ttyS4 would not work.
The way your previous message reads is a bit confusing to me. By (for
test if works), do you mean to test if it will boot, or test if the
serial port works? If
Considering Grub, what significance does `GRUB_SERIAL_COMMAND'
A command to configure the serial port when using the serial
console. *Note serial::. Defaults to `serial'. have with regards to
this situation?

PLEASE NOTE: Bug Reports would not let me enter Ubuntu 12.04 LTS,
System Settings, or Additional Drivers, or anything like that.
This is incredibly frustrating, as this problem doesn't seem to be
associated with any package, but with operating system components. I
