I am really sorry to do this to you again igi, but I just tested gramps 5.1.5
in a fresh Ubuntu 22.04 installation and I cannot reproduce the problem.
I created a new database, created a new person, then created a new event (a
birth), and clicked OK. There was no crash.

Regarding the requestbackport package, it is really only the template
for the bug report that needs to change from memory. I don't think it
had any other workflow related information. Once that is fixed, it just
needs a reference from the backports process wiki again (like it used to

upgrades, so did "apt upgrade" & got dkms error. The relevant bits here:

Yes - installing back to /usr/lib/dssi is a quick fix. We can see about
adding extra search paths for jack-dssi in Debian later.
Are there other plugin managers that should be updated to the new path?
I am having fun with the build setup on my new computer - so going a bit
slow at the moment.
o be added to other plugin managers like Carla.
It is probably best to move it back to the traditional DSSI location, as
it is unlikely that anyone would need both a 32 and 64 bit Hexter.

Thanks for reporting this bug.
Vmpk 0.7.2-1 is now in the focal development release (to become 20.04).
I am not sure exactly how to test vmpk with MusE. Are you able to confirm if
this latest version works with MusE without crashing?

On the same machine, I upgrade a standard Ubuntu Desktop installation
from 18.10 > 19.04 > 19.10.
I do NOT get the same screen blotching.

Found some time today to plug my test machine back in. I have several installs
on the machine:
I updated Ubuntu Studio 18.04 - no problems.
I upgraded Ubuntu Studio 18.10 to 19.04 - no problems.
I upgraded Ubuntu Studio 19.04 to 19.10 and I get the screen
tearing/blotching/flickering.

Whoops. I was in such a hurry I didn't check the video on a different
computer. Silly me. Marking the bug as incomplete until I have time to
record the glitches properly. Thanks for the suggestion Ralph (although
I could have done without the personal insult).

Screen blotches/flickering on XFCE (Ubuntu Studio) Eoan 19.10

I am not 100% sure I am reporting against the correct package. I have
been using Ubuntu Studio 19.10 development release today, and I am
seeing colour blotches over the screen (at the place of focus) when it
is updating near the mouse pointer, or text being entered into the
