Just installed Ubuntu 15.10 on Asus Zenbook, and I am facing exactly
same issue.
Adding Xcursor*size: 48 to /etc/X11/Xresources/x11-common didn't work
for me, restarting unity helps, but after reboot it happens again.
Is there any other workaround?
I see adding export XCURSOR_SIZE=48 somewhere
I am experiencing this issue when trying to create clonezilla live USB.
How can I apply this patch?

I have latest Unity and latest NetBeans (7.1.2).
I get this behavior, but not so often. You can't just download and try
few times. I can't reproduce it any time, but it happens. I recorded a
video you mentioned in comment #6, and have running both latest versions
at the time of recording.

@fabiomarconi Thanks for locating the package. Does that means that I
can do some workaround to get icon fixed? I guess I should do sth with
desktop file? I tried to set full path to icon, but it's still blurred.

This happens when application is under development (no .desktop file)
and not installed from software center or package.
To reproduce bug the easiest way would be to create new Ubuntu
application with Quickly:
$quickly create ubuntu-application foobar
$cd foobar
$quickly
Another thing I noticed.
When Gedit is opened from launcher, it has icon, then when I open some
file from Nautilus (double click) it opens file in a new window instead
in a new tab in already opened Gedit instance. Is this expected
behavior?
I'm afraid I have two Gedits installed, one invalid
