Software Center did ask what webserver I am using. But the next dialog about configuring cacti with database only had a combo box with Abort/Retry/Ignore for me to choose from. apt-get on the other hand, asked my webserver, the MySQL password, and one other password I don't know what for. --

I'm sorry I didn't provide this earlier and I'm afraid I can provide neither. The /var/log/dist-upgrade/ directory is empty (I've also checked for hidden files). Also, several boot cycles after the upgrade, the problem simply disappeared. Upgrades have been going on smoothly, and the system has
