I did another dpkg-reconfigure and did't launch my new IM client qutIM:

It's in early stage of development and there is a plenty of segfaults reported
on it's support forum.

It seems that it was a bug in input subsystem of xorg and not in device driver.
Resent xorg updates fixed the issue - there was no useful info in kdm error log
any more after crashes - but config files were corrupted.
Thanks to dpkg-reconfigure magic the problem is finally gone - uptime for ~3
There is a patch to add OSS4 support for kmix-3.5.9:

Problem in gutsy with ksquirrel-libs:
in gutsy we have libjasper1 version 1.900.1-3 (gutsy)
in debian etch libjasper-1.701-1
So, synaptic says:
