I updated the BIOS as pointed, and was working fine, but after a while

I didn't reboot the laptop this time, just switched to a terminal
session, with Ctrl + Alt + F2, and then switched back to the GUI
session, and this

Not always using the same app, but this has happened 3 times now in the
same day, just the day I installed the 14.10 version. It was working
just fine with 12.04.
