Yes the same happens with me Christian. If you open up a terminal and enter aslamixer you will see that Auto-Mute Mode is missing. This is what triggers the Mute Unmute for the speakers. Im just not sure how the whole thing works myself as im not a coder, but I know one thing it was working

By adding options snd-hda-intel model=acer or acer-aspire to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf I can confirm that I get sound from both headphone jack and speakers which seems to work fine, but I can not select the analogue mode for 4.0, 4.1, 5.0 or 5.1 surround, nor does the sound test operate.

I have removed the package I installed and then reinstalled the linux- image 3.2.0-17 and added the options snd-hda-intel model=acer-8930g but still I have sound from the speakers and headphones. I run the apport-collect 941219 but this was the output: No packages found matching alsa-driver.
