From the comments so far, the attached patch doesnt actually seem to
work. Is it actually working for anyone? I am going to investigate
patching the deprecated calls. Moving to 1.2 may be an option as it is
in Debian. Will try speak to someone at UDS.

I've had a look at patching the calls, and replaced all of them. There
are now LDAP errors. Too much has changed and would like to SRU this
package as due to php 5.3 incompatibility it is currently not working on
Lucid.

Binary package hint: ecryptfs-utils
After installation of Karmic Alpha 3 I was unable to access my previous
Jaunty encrypted /home directory. This may only affect certain
situations, in particular /home on a separate partition or LVM.
Steps followed
mv
installing about global varible being declared incorrectly.

changes to Debian. I see there is a Debian bug open for the manpages
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=125637) - Looks like
the same manpages, but a diff would be easier to apply.
