Currently (as of Ubuntu 17.04), version 0.3.1 of this library is
packaged for Ubuntu. Applications using this library will crash if you
attempt to start them under Wayland (or another other non-X display).
Version 0.3.2 of this library resolves this crash, as can be seen in

desktop environment. Locking manually works fine, but the automatic
timer does not.
This is a security requirement in my organization, and the fact that the
Brightness & Lock settings panel reports that this setting is active

Changing the resolution with xrandr has not been successful in bringing
the cursor back recently, but attempting to switch to another user (and
then returning to the original session) DOES cause the cursor to
reappear. This at least gives me a workaround (and hopefully hints at a

I have no leads on reproducing the crash.
I reported a crash, not a bug. The crash handler in Ubuntu isn't really
implemented to discern between the two. If the crash report it
generated isn't useful in any way, then so be it. I'm sorry if I've
merely wasted time.
