hard to reproduce, but seems to happen more often if the connection to
the mailserver is slow and there are several queued tasks.

the E71 works on 8.04 using the package in the ppa mentioned above
paired with the fix of Ruben above and the Nokia USB Cable.

I compiled the intrepid version for hardy and the problem still happens.
It is still spinning on the unavailable unix socket. According to gdb
this happens in libxcb because it gets a xcb_connection_t with the fd of
the socket. Probably the output below helps. Please tell me if you need
any
this happens very frequently here. it makes liferea nearly unusable on a
laptop, after some usage it will quietly increase its cpu usage to 100%
and drain the battery.
using the menu pop-menu item only shows an empty liferea window which
has to be closed with the close button to really quit
after dialing the device is up, but the network manager applet still
reports it is offline.
the syslog is attached. other applications like firefox start in offline
mode.

selected Locale. ANSI is the default in the US in Windows 98, in germany
it is iso-8859-15. I think Vista uses utf-8 by default.

Network manager leaves the card in a state where it is not easily usable
with iwconfig. It won't connect to the network even if it is configured
with iwconfig.
You have to deactivate roaming mode, then reboot, then manually
configure with iwconfig.

It works for me with the latest compiz in feisty (1:0.3.6-1ubuntu3) and
compiz uses indirect rendering automatically. My terminals are also
updating now.

Moving messages to another folder using dragdrop does not work anymore.
The folders do not accept the drop gesture and the message stays in the
current folder.

The bug is fixed for some time and works for me since the update
mentioned above.

i can confirm this bug.
starting vmware with
VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK=force vmware
removes the message but vmware will also quit immediately.
