I replaced my old IDE CD-ROM drive with a new SATA drive, but as a
result DVD playback is slow and io-wait often around 50% (with dual core
Intel processors). Sometimes it's fast in the beginning but then slows
down... The operating system is Ubuntu 8.04.

slow burn and checksum - sata
According to the Intel BIOS manual there seems to be a setting in BIOS
that let's you to choose your SATA mode (Advanced Drive Configuration
Menu Configure SATA as) which is by default set to IDE. Do you have
tried AHCI instead?

The last time I tried it in Hardy it didn't work. Workaround is to print
the PNG files outside but it's not convenient for small children, even

making a fresh WinNT install in the lates QEmu works fine. In other

I tested the image in Ubuntu 8.04 snapshot with QEmu version
0.9.0+20070816-1ubuntu3 and bochsbios-qemu version 2.3.5-1ubuntu1. QEmu
displays the same error message as cited in beginning of this bug

Yeah, it's easy that make a workaround for this kind of simple bugs but

Binary package hint: realplayer
I installed Real Player 10 using Add/Remove menuitem in Ubuntu Dapper.
Installation succeeded and I am able to play streams with Real player.
However there is something wrong with file type associations. When I

I didn't add the extra source but things seem to be have been fine maybe
since official release of Dapper. Probably one of the patches fixed
something.
As much as it depends on me this bug can be closed. Thanks for your
