The only way I found is to remove the pulseaudio package. Would you be

Please, in Ekiga, go to Edit → Preferences → General Settings → Network
and disable Disable network detection. Restart Ekiga. Does it work? If
not, please attach a new debug ouput with the new setting.

Registration to Ekiga.net is fine.
The issue is with the negotiation when calling the echo test: the INVITE
timeout after resending

As you behind a NAT, did you setup some port forwarding for SIP? Or
you're using the standard configuration of the router?
Can you check if your router has support for SIP built-in? Usually the
name for it is Application-level gateway or ALG;

Ok, let's take issues one at the time. First audio.
In ubuntu jaunty, do you have any feedback from ekiga about the audio?
Please use default for ringing, output and input in ekiga preferences.
The sliders in Ekiga for audio only are enabled during a call, use the
roster and call the echo test,

Ekiga 3.2.0 tries every interfaces and pick up the one which works. It
seems there is a particular issue with virtualization.
Could you please provide debug output to help fix this?
