Disabling switch on port and switching on connect for me is not ideal, since I

yes but the upstream version didn't make it into ardy, so the patch is
still up in the air. i suppose it is safe to upgrade AptonCD to the new
upstream version (there are no major dependencies changes), this is
important seing that AptonCD is useless without its restore
functionality

when did the fix get released ? i didn't get notified about aptoncd
updates in hardy. I don't care about upstream i care if hardy is stuck
with non-working package archiving for 3 years !

sorry i didn't mean to be impolite. I apologize. but for notice i'm
using aptoncd 0.1.98-0ubuntu1, and still having this bug (hardy). So the
bug seems to have reappeared. Sorry again man, i appreciate the time and
effort you guys put into this.

actually when i run aptoncd in terminal, i don't get any command line
information, the GUI just pops up irectly. But i did try aptoncd -c to
show version info, and it is indeed 0.1.98-0ubuntu1

well i have openoffice.org-java-common installed, it has been since i
was on gutsy. But it seems the upgrade just let it sit there without any
update, you are right to fix the problem we need to figure out why it's
not upgrading the file.

no i just checked actually and it's the latest version
(1:2.4.0-3ubuntu6), so it did get upgraded, but somehow that specific
file still points to the older java even after the upgrade

no you seem to have got me wrong. The file i attached in the file that
points to the right java version, the other obsolete file is deleted (
that was how i fixed the problem ), i remember the only difference
between them being the version number ( 1.6.0.3 on the old one, 1.6.0.6
on the correct
