ok, pulled, fixed and sent to apt maintainer.
can anyone of the bzr wizards confirm or deny that this is the right way
to do it...?
bzr branch lp:apt
#change file and update changelog
bzr commit -m fixed lp#363695 - apt-xapian-index should be nice
#get mailaddress of apt maintainer
bzr send
OK, deleted and re-created NM entry.
unfortunately no change at all.
btw, i have another connection over a different mobile phone carried
over from lucid and using it without problems

my huawei e161 won't work anymore under current kubuntu maverick with

things seem to be better there:
nice ionice -c3 update-apt-xapian-index -q
but we have the same issue as in bug 363695 - it should be

the first possible aim make apt-xapian background indexing as nice as
possible is reached.
of course one could say make apt-xapian background indexing an option
which can be switched off - i think here we need an analysis
