Same here, video capture (not image capture) makes Guvcview crash on
Lubuntu 11.10. Changing the video codec doesn't make any difference.
Terminal output, in the end says:
[mp2 @ 0xb6720140] codec type or id mismatches
could not open codec

Still not solved in Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. Creating url shortcuts
in desktop by drag and drop from browser should be a basic feature! I'm
sorry but I really find hard to believe that after all these
I confirm, it's broken again (Ubuntu 11.04 Natty):

Lubuntu 11.04 - this bug is still present.
Test: running lbreakout (the game) will make the computer freeze right away.
That doesn't happen when HT is disabled.

That's out of question, because I can't even try the new Ubuntu version due to
Unity.
This laptop only has 512 RAM and I'm using the Radeon open source driver (no
other alternatives available).
Ubuntu 11 doesn't work here and even Unity 2D is too heavy and slow for this
laptop.

If it's not a flash issue, at least interferes with flash videos playback.
And perhaps it's a javascript issue.
Eg., I get trouble ahead all the time on videos like these:

Forgive me something but - come on - this bug exists since 2009.
It should be solved by now, in my humble opinion... but it's not!
I can still reproduce:

in Ubuntu 10.10 and Firefox 3.6.16, Chrome 10.0..., etc. when viewing sites

If this option is enabled in BIOS, the system will freeze after some minutes of

All system freezes: keys combinations are useless, mouse is irresponsible.

Hello, Fabio. I would say that this problem is not totally solved in Ubuntu
10.04.
Lucid Lynx gives access to a plugin for HP Laserjet 1018, wich works fine.
Most of the times, I get a clean boot with no problems at all.
But sometimes (maybe 1 in 3 or 4 times) the printer delays the boot, and I
I would like to try solution #80.
But I don't know how to edit /usr/share/pyshared/gwibber/microblog/__init__.py
Here is an empty file (on gedit).
Please help.

Thanks, Ralf, incredibly much faster after uninstalling my old liferea and get
that version 1.7.4.
Installing...

liferea_1.7.4-2~llfsyncfix1_i386.deb
liferea-dbg_1.7.4-2~llfsyncfix1_i386.deb

On exit, Foobillard causes complete failure of the system. This happens on
Ubuntu Karmic Koala (never had that issue on Jaunty Jackalope). I can move
mouse but nothing else responds... and I mean nothing at all.
Running Ubuntu 9.10, clean install, on a Acer Travelmate 2700, 512mb ram, ATI
I confirm what Aleksander Morgado just said.

I confirm this bug and what Esteban Izaguirre just said. I have an HP
LaserJet 1018 too and the same error occurs here, in Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04,
if the printer is plugged in during boot.
Those errors appear after Starting bluetooth... message, so you can
workaround this issue by turning off the
