The Bug persists in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin - very annoying. Isn't
there at least a workaround?

Shutdown hangs on Unmounting NCP
In Ubuntu 12.04 Precise I can not work with LibreOffice at all. The fix
from above does not work any more.
Libreoffice crashes every 5 minutes with the error message named above:

/usr/lib/librdf.so.0: symbol raptor_new_world_internal,

One more addition:
There is no error if I mount the ncpfs-Volumes, copy some files quickly, and
then umount the volume immidiately. If I leave the volume mounted and shutdown
my machine after some hours umount does not work any more saying the resource
was busy (which is not the case and I

LibreOffice Writer: Saving a new
Christopher,
now I finally tried your hint, but it did not lead to any new results.
All updates are installed and libraptor1-dbg, too. When I launch
LibreOffice and save in odf it crashes and no apport window appears and
no file in /var/crash is created.

Apport was definetly running (and still is). I tried it with a manual
start (sudo service apport ...) and after a reboot with
/etc/default/apport edited to enable apport.

Thanks for the info. I installed those three packages, but still apport
does not recognize the crash (it recognizes other crashes but not the
one of libreoffice).
Additionally I found out that working with Microsoft Word files works
perfectly; only .odt-Documents cause the error.

You can find one of the crash reports created in the attachment.
Perhaps this report gives you some more general information about my
environment; but I am sure this crash is not directly related to the
LibreOffice-Crash.
The crash reports I mentioned happened before I even started

LibreOffice Writer: Saving a new file causes crash

Thanks for your hints - I did not know there was a special tool for reporting
bugs on my system.
Now I tried apport, but I wasn't very successful as no bug report was created
at all.
As you recommended, I started apport and reproduced the crash. I did not find
any crash report. So I went on,
Public bug reported:
I just updated to Ubuntu Oneiric (11.10).
When I open LibreOffice Writer, create a new file and try to save it,
the whole application crashes.
To get more information, I started LibreOffice on the shell and got this errors
as an output:
ak@computer:~$ libreoffice
Such a defensive strategy to not misfire is certainly well thought out
and appreciated.
However, like Adam pointed out, a log entry indicating why exactly the
service couldn't be started would be a good policy change according to
me. Or even a simple echo like START variable not set/incomplete
Andres:
Before I filed the bug, I did exactly what you told as a workaround to get
corosync up and running with that init script.
However, I spent a bit of time looking at this and also bothered some
folks on the Corosync IRC channel. My humble opinion is that appropriate
changes be made to the
Public bug reported:
Corosync cannot be started/stopped from init scripts on 11.04:
sudo /etc/init.d/corosync start
does not do anything. Nothing logged in /var/log/syslog.
Upong further investigation,
sudo bash -x /etc/init.d/corosync start
gives this:
+ PATH=/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin
Thanks, that sounds very promising.
I suppose you mean this kernel-PPA:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.39-rc4-natty/
One Question before I install a kernel that is not officially released:
How can I revert to my current (2.6.38-8-generic) kernel in case the 2.6.39
does not
Finally - Thanks again BeaconRus. I risked an update to 2.6.39 via PPA
and everything works again.
I used these instructions to plugin the kernel-ppa into my natty:
http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppas/37
To install this PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kernel-ppa/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo
To me it looks rather similar. But I do not understand the details.
If you want to get ncpfs back working try what BeaconRus suggested in this
thread:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ncpfs/+bug/773211
I posted how I finally installed linux 2.6.39 at the bottom there.
