Gnubg crashes after starting.
It didn't use to crash. But it starting crashing after a recent update of
Ubuntu (within the second week of July).
The Ubuntu version, as well as one built from the GNU project's sources crash
in the same way.
In the terminal there is printed:
Hi, this just happened again now. What I did was log out my user, then
logged back in. mission-control then started, and top said its user was
was GDM, and it kept using 100% of a CPU. (There also was a crash in
network manager when I logged back in.)

I've seen this twice in two months, so it rare.
Gnome panel sometimes uses a lot of memory, 3+ GB. Logging out and back
in didn't help initially. After 10 minutes or so, gnome-panel was no
longer using all this memory (it fixed itself).

I tried adding a printer using this ipp14 uri and it worked.
There were some new errors about cms files in the log.
example:
E [09/Jun/2012:19:04:00 -0700] [cups-driverd] Bad driver information file
It is working as expected. System-config-printer finds my printer and
the first choice is AppSocket JetDirect for protocol.
The reason it wasn't working before was because I had another system-
config-printer is /usr/local, which I'd installed earlier to see if it
would help. Even though I ran
Perhaps system-config-printer is still not by default showing a first choice of
the AppSocket/JetDirect protocol?
When I run /usr/bin/system-config-printer, it chooses IPP network printer via
DNS-SD as the first connection choice.

Trying to understand the log file generated, I think this is happening because
Ubuntu now recognizes any anonymous user (guest) and gives them a temporary
Home in /tmp/guest-home.xyz
So in /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf
Out ${HOME}/PDF
is followed and it does not get to the setting AnonDirName (or
apport information

When I stick a particular cd into my computer, Ubuntu is not mounting
it. (Most CDs work, not this one though.)
