I installed mainline kernel -
linux-image-2.6.27-02062718-generic_2.6.27-02062718_i386
onto Dell Latitude D620. Powered laptop off for a couple of hours.
Booted laptop using mainline kernel linux-
image-2.6.27-02062718-generic_2.6.27-02062718_i386
loaded i8k module
fired up gkrellm configured
on a dell latitude d620 just tested mainline kernel -
linux-image-2.6.28-020628-generic_2.6.28-020628_i386 using the same steps as my
previous entry.
In less than 10 minutes using the program - stress the temperature jumped from
47 to 87 celsius
I shut down the stress process before the lap
