[Bug 733374] Re: X freeze, nvidia-current, Ubuntu 11.04 Maverick GeForce 9600GT

2012-03-05 Thread hirumono
Hi, I think X freezes with nVidia cards on multiple-core systems have been a major pain for Linux users for a long time. My troubles began in 2008 on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon, when I upgraded my system to a dual-core Athlon64 X2. At the moment I'm living (not too happily) with an ATi 3450 HD, which

[Bug 622118] [NEW] Eject key tries to 'eject' an USB card reader

2010-08-22 Thread hirumono
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gvfs Using Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (upgraded from Karmic). While reporting a regression that prevented the 'eject' key on my Apple extended keyboard from working (see bugs #569994 and its 'child' #619019), I found out that the key tried to 'eject' my Sandisk

2010-08-01 Thread hirumono
Sorry for not checking the 'gvfs -li' output before (and for the late answer - I've just come back from an overseas trip). That's strange, because my 'gvfs -li' output shows the invalid value for can_eject property too - BTW, the same goes for the Sandisk card reader. So 'can_eject=0' is not

@David Tombs: I'll be happy to file a new bug, but before that I'd like to add the following to make sure this really IS a separate bug (and sorry for not replying before, but I have been away from my computer for a month): - Sandisk card reader mounted, with memory card in: 'Eject' unmounts the

[Bug 120016] Re: MASTER: Canon Pixma (ip4200, ip4000, ip3000, maybe more) prints wrong colors

2009-11-29 Thread hirumono
Hi, I can confirm a strange behaviour of Gutenprint drivers with Canon inkjet printers. Under Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) my new PIXMA iP4300 prints text and b/w images very well and the print test page is perfect, but when I print color images (from GIMP or gThumb) I can see two different

2008-10-25 Thread hirumono
I finally solved my issue. I figured that the freezes were interrupt-related when I installed IRQBalance on my box and a freeze happened few seconds after the daemon had started. Then I discovered that nVidia drivers have an internal IRQ manager (possibly to distribute the GPU load over

I surely hope this fix helps, but I'm afraid not as it seems to solve some problems with Intel hardware (I don't have anything Intel-related in my box). Moreover, for about a week I've been using the nv driver (after uninstalling EVERYTHING which had the nVidia name in it), and my machine works

I can confirm this bug, though I'm not sure it's related to linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24. I started having freeze problems when I switched my old Asus motherboard and Athlon XP 2400+ to another Asus mobo with Athlon64 X2 3800+. I did not reinstall Gutsy - I just booted to see how the system
