Presumably the issue has nothing to do with GPU for the reason that we all have
the same problem even though having different hardware. OS - that's what is the
same for us all. Since the issue was introduced with Jaunty and later on Hardy,
according to Alex Cockell's report, it sticks

Ubuntu 9.04, fresh install on Acer Aspire 5005.
Not sure about package, but it seems the problem is with CPU frequency
adjustment or fan control.
Laptop shuts down right in the middle of CPU-greedy operation overheated. I
haven't seen it before (since 7.10).
