my Dell Latitude 630 with 23-bit Karmic experiences these exact symptoms. I usually close the lid when not in use, and have it set to suspend. When I open the lid, usually it wakes in less than 6 seconds. However, as Bastanteroma describes, now it goes to sleep as soon as it wakes up. This
