I have a ssh-tunnel to my remote database host. localhost: ist
forwarded. When I configure mysql-admin to connect to localhost: it
uses the socket connection to my locally running mysql server. This is
very confusing. Only using 127.0.0.1: uses the tcp connection.
In Y. 2.9.4 the problem seems to be that yakuake assigns the shortcut
only for the app but not globally. It was lost during one of the update
from intrepid to jaunty.
If you reassign the shortcut for global it will work.

Yes, funny, although reinstall did not work, a remove and install did!
(I thought the semantics were the same, but anyway...)
Still I'd keep the BUG open because I think it can be easily solved and
even this little workaround is unnecessary.

I can start kdm with the 'nv' driver and I can run startx with the
'nvidia' driver. However, using the nvidia driver to start kdm does not

Had the same problem. I upgraded from feisty and the network-manager
behaviour changed.
Make shure that all interfaces in /etc/network/interfaces are commented
out (except for lo).
