drivers (AMD). But I also had the same "problem" while using the proprietary
Nvidia drivers on my laptop (it has dual-graphics with an integrated Intel one).

TEST OK on AMD A10-6800K.
I followed the steps in message #132 and IT WORKS on my system.
The system booted correctly into UNity and I have successfully opened AMD
Catalyst Control Center.
My question is: shall I delete the /etc/apt/preferences.d/proposed-updates file
or is it better to leave

Hi all. I too had the problem, much the same way as I had with 14.04 LTS some
months ago.
This time I followed this post and managed to uninstall fglrx-* packages and
get my system to boot again:

I have tried today with the 15.10 Final ISO image and all is the same.
Unable to boot the live and screen shows the same issues.
If I boot the USB normally, the boot stopped at [6.9] with "i8042: No
controller found" issue.
If I boot removing "quite splash" from grub, the boot stopped at [7.3]
Same here, on a Radeon HD5450.

I have tried today with the 15.10 RC ISO image from

and all is the same. Unable to boot the live and screen shows the same
