Chipset is Ati Radeon Xpress 1150. I just installed Ubuntu Hardy Beta
and when I tried to log in Ubuntu threw me back login screen. I have had
this problem allways when I have used Hardy. In Gutsy all was ok.

I'm not sure is this duplicate. I reported black screen with mobility
radeon x700 before this and it fixed. I installed Ubuntu Hardy again
because my wireless network doesn't work. I enabled fglrx driver by
ubuntu hardware drivers control window and ubuntu downloaded and

I did sudo apt-get dist-upgrade in KDE4-environment and I installed
packages in KDE4 and after this I got this error. But after the Alpha 6
cd installation I don't have this problem. Thank you James :)

I installed kubuntu-desktop beside ubuntu-desktop and I don't see any
screen errors on kubuntu. I changed gdm to kdm, but it doen't help with
gnome screen errors and slow screen refresh. It's bad that I don't have

Owner and group of files .Iceauthority .mcoprc .qt and directory .mcop
was root. I don't know why. I changed owner to mattik and I can log in
normally. Maybe this is because I used recovery mode as root when I

Logout works right in Kubuntu. Logout in Gnome showed only background
image. Logout in KDE4 gave black screen and window's upper bar was gray.

My wireless connection disappeared, when I did apt-get dist-upgrade from
gutsy to hardy and the second time it disappeared when I installed
kubuntu-desktop. But now when I installed ubuntu alpha 5 from cd I got
wireless connection working.

I installed fglrx by System-Adminstration-Hardware Drivers. After the
booting I got black screen. When I booted by recovery mode and I
selected try to fix X Server all was gone without errors. But when I
selected: resume normal boot I got white desktop without any items. When
I booted second time
I can install fglrx in alpha 5 but it doesn't work. I got black screen
with gray line downside of screen. And when I booted recovery mode and I
tried to fix X I got Ubuntu back. But if I select return to normal
boot in recovery mode my desktop is clear white without any items. And
after normal

fglrx. Aftter enabling this and booting Ubuntu I got message that
resolution is very low
Beside this I have to press mouse button down, that I can select
something from menus of Ubuntu. And I cannot activate any icons, even
shutdown icon. I don't know how can I get right resolution and procedure
of desktop.

I have same problem. I cannot change to command line, too.But I can
login by safe mode. My Graphic card is integrated ATI XPress 1150 and
this is desktop computer. All was right in my laptop when I started live
cd. Anyway I will try to install Ubuntu to this.

I installed Ubuntu Alpha 4 from cd. And I selected connect to other
wireless networks. After this I selected personal wpa2, but I didn't set
selection AES-CCMP. I selected AUTOMATIC and wireless network runs
right. I had same problem in Gutsy. I haven't to select AES-CCMP, I have
to select
I got screen back by recovery mode. I'm now waiting new fglrx updates
for testing. This driver doesn't work.

I wonder is problem in wpa2 crypting? It worked Gutsy only by wpa-
selection, no wpa2-selection.

I just upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy. And after this my wireless
connection doesn't work. I used Gnome and KDE4. My wireless ethernet
device is INTEL PRO/Wireless 2200 BG. Connection works right in Win XP
Pro. My crypting is WPA2 AES/CCMP. I tried to connect wireless network
