I'm using Gnome as window manager. In previous versions of Ubuntu I never had
such problems.
In fact the application is not killed, it just disappears from the
avant-window-manager. I already removed the default task bar with open
applications, so I can't see my application anymore when moving
Yes I do use Compiz. My issue is solved with setting the number of
desktops to 1.
