My card is connected to Line-in in sound card, and fortunately it works.
Unfortunately, I had to unmute the input via alsamixer everytime I
launched TVtime (as it is the only working tool for that) and mute after
I finished watching TV. So I made a little script, you know what to do
with it:)

Yes, it is. I have a Thinkpad T41 with Lucid, all updates. The
brightness applet is not working at all (I can't do it by clicking, but
I can use scrolling to move the slider; however, it doesn't change the
actual brightness of the screen), but the keyboard shortcut is working
fine. The sound

How am I supposed to fix this bug by updating Ubuntu, if I cannot even

I can confirm this bug on Firefox 3.5 downloaded from official Mozilla website
(in .tar.bz2), on Thinkpad T41 - ATI Mobility Radeon 7500. However, the
workaround works perfectly, I added to firefox (it's a bash script) this line:

@Conn: Sometimes it leads to a mess on desktop, but sometimes it doesn't. It
depends on how you organize your files. I'm not saying that this idea is
completely without sense, but I think that some people would like to download
files directly to their desktops.

@jamesmcm: yes yes yes!!! you're right, men! I was searching for a bug
covering the problem with this function, and your fix is amazingly
simple! I think that it should be fixed ASAP, because now Nautilus asks
me if I want to execute an .ini file:/ And it doesn't, when I double
click a bash

Believe me, I HAVE such a reason. Imagine a situation when you have several

Pretty weird. I was able to lock a banshee package as soon as they

Can I ask developers, what are the plans for this feature? Will it be
implemented in Karmic? Will there be an option to disable it? By
default, turned on or off?
Many people, as Textureglitch noticed, click the file twice to make sure it's

Have you read comments on Brainstorm? Some people (including me) like the fact
that the Desktop folder is also Download folder. I know that other operating

I've read somewhere that it is hard-coded in gnome-panel source and has

Consider probable situation when e.g. Synaptic was not closed properly

If I can say something, it's one of the most annoying thing which
happens to me when I use Windows. When I click the file once more, I
just want to make sure that the file is selected (e.g. I want to delete
it) and not something else. Renaming file by clicking is very
unintuitive. If I want to

I can confirm this too. I have two Thinkpads: T40 (upgrade) and T41

that changing value via brightness Gnome applet changes hardware
settings, but NOT vice versa. And sound is completely separate: hotkeys
are changing physical
