after update manager ran 10/28/2008 i know longer have the network icon
in the panel. I can't change network connection or see signal strength
now. This refers to Beta 8.10 and has occured in two machines.

I have an hp pavilion dv9500 with the same audio problem. I have been
using gutsy since tribe 1. Hoping for a resolution to this ongoing
problem. Evidently their is a bug in the kernel. The kernel developers
have been aware of it for some time and it has been resolved. If you
upgrade to the latest
