Still nothing since 2009-09-02? this is a pretty basic feature, all we
need is to allow interaction with the main window but disable buttons,
that way a user can review while an update is in progress, can we get
any help here?

Also affects me, I have an old Radeon that displays garbage with Unity
3D so am running the official Unity 2D from the Repo's
I Think this could be related to monitor 1(on the card) being on the
right hand side of monitor 2

I have the same set up with the same symptoms, however there is a
workaround - Bob, when you enable dual monitors log out and back in
again and it should be ok, you will need to add a logout button to the
panel away from the garbled mess:)
This works but if enabling desktop effects under

happened again today, freezes for a second, blank screen then the
screensaver starts again, error this time was Cannot start display,
there were errors trying to start the X server
the error box must of came up every time i clicked switch user as there
was 15 boxes on top of each other when i

When choosing Switch User from a locked screen it will show the screen-
saver for a few more seconds then go straight back to the locked
dialogue, if I unlock the account there is an error message saying the
X server failed,
- seems to work fine now with no modifications, maybe only the first
time trying to switch user?
