Hello Maarten, thanks for following up. I am now using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
(64 bit) and still encounter the same error. I have now 31 unread emails
in gmail inbox, but mail-notification shows 20.
I have uploaded the logs using apport-collect 491032. I'm not sure what

Confirming on Ubuntu 8.10 (x86_64). Also the command line mail (to
send an email) takes a long time to complete, though the mail gets
delivered eventually.

I confirm this in Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit version with Firefox 3.0.4. Many a
times writing the URL in address bar and pressing enter does not
respond!
