Public bug reported:
Just upgraded from jaunty to karmic, and when running
gnome-settings-daemon --no-daemon --debug
I get, at the end,
** (gnome-settings-daemon:2840): DEBUG: GnomeSettingsModule 0x91bbc50
initialising
** (gnome-settings-daemon:2840): DEBUG: Loading
I see that this problem happens when I start ubuntu with the external
monitor connected.
When starting with the external monitor disconnected, then those errors
don't happen, so probably this is a xorg-intel driver error.

I have also noted the same problem after screen rotation, using xrandr
After screen is rotated, the applet makes the keyboard to go to the
default layout, and other layouts cannot be selected by pressing the
applet icon.

I tested the package with the fix included and yes, now it works!
Thanks.
I still don't understand why this driver update is not uploaded to normal
ubuntu updates repository, and I had to setup this new repository which I
never heard of before...

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
I own a fujitsu u810 that has a problem using the external display. This
problem has appeared when moving to Jaunty, since the external monitor
was working ok in ubuntu 8.04.
The problem is solved in xf86-video-intel since
I didn't attach any of those files, since all i wanted to kinow is by
when the mentioned patch will be released in the video-intel package.
Anyway, I'm uploading required files.
Note that since I manually patched the video-intel driver with an old
patch, not the one mentioned, I needed to

Public bug reported:
When keyboard indicator is included in a vertical panel in gnome, it
displays the selected layout text (USA, Afg, whatever) in vertical
orientation, while other applets show in horizontal orientation.
I would exepect the text to appear in horizontal orientation too.
