Same problem here. Xine freezes when opening srt files, however it works
when using command line mrl to load .srt with movie file.
$ lsb_release -drc
Description:Ubuntu 11.04

$ xine -v

This is still present in Ubuntu 10.10. xine-ui version: 0.99.6-1

The subtitle on Movie Player (Totem) is not loading too. I've tried with a
.srt file with the same name as the .avi file e the subtitles doesn't appears.
Put my .srt file as an attach.

the same to me :(
subtitles don't work now on my ubuntu hardy. even the new daily image of 15
April, i've installed and subtitles nothing.
even if i open with subtitle workshop it gives me an error can't open
subtitle. I'm really an happy with this problem.

it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with
the development branch of Ubuntu, Hardy Heron?
yes i have same problem too. Open subtitle dialog freezes when opening
external subtitles.
