I have the same error within a test program using GtkTreeView +
GtkTreeStore component from GTK+ 2. Thus, it seems to be a bug in GTK+.

Sorry I have to correct my comment #10 above.
I found the direct reason for my session hangs and they are unrelated to
this Glib-CRITICAL messages. Just conincidental.
The Glib-CRITICAL errors are annoying and indicate some incorrect calls
from various apps to Glib, but not a serious issue as
I just started noticing this due to logging 2 systems' syslog.
This is happening quite frequently source is console-kit-daemon
according the the syslogs being recorded.
