Under KDE, just found the following solution.
When you plug in a USB device, an icon for it should appear on your desktop.
Click on it and the device will be mounted and also listed in /media.
For automatic mounting, right-click on the icon,
select Properties - Mounting - Mount automatically

All is well (for me at least), USB automounting now working properly for
both hard-drive and pendrives.

I've also lost automount for USB memory keys, using Tribe 5 on a
Thinkpad T61.
I'm not sure if his followed kernel upgrade, but there was one a couple
of days ago, so it certainly might be.
I suggest that this is a pretty serious issue if its widespread.

Same problem for me. Gutsy Gibbon TRibe 5 installed today on my Acer
Aspire 1642z. The automount for USB pendrives don't work.
