The way I see it the option Always ask should _always ask_ what
certificate to use each and every time I try to log into the site.
That is not the way FF works and not what the button suggests. Firefox
works with sessions. It always asks *for every session*. You can

Ah, I understand now. I thought a session was the login-session to
the page that I was trying to access. That's what the confusion comes
from.
I didn't think a session was the current running firefox process. I
still think the wording of the button is somewhat unfortunate.

I'd say, FF behaves as expexted. But I leave that up to somebody else

You should really not use a certificate supplied to you in an
environment like an internet cafe.
