I upgraded to Linux 3.19.0-26-generic last night via dist-upgrade, but
got the following terminal output (from /var/log/apt/term.log):
...
Setting up linux-image-generic (3.19.0.26.25) ...
Setting up linux-headers-3.19.0-26 (3.19.0-26.28) ...
Setting up linux-headers-3.19.0-26-generic
I decided to purge the new kernel to temporarily fix the situation:
sudo apt-get purge linux-image-3.19.0-26-generic*
I will wait for a new kernel update. Hopefully this will be fixed in the
next one. :)

To boot into a working system: Boot up your computer, use the grub menu
(hold down shift during boot if you have to) to select:
Advanced options for Ubuntu - Ubuntu with Linux3.19.0-25-generic
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
