You haven't changed any configuration files (e g such as /etc/pulse/default.pa ) so they now reference a hard-coded "source #2", have you? If not, could you reproduce this with a higher log level (e g by following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PulseAudio/Log ) and see if you get more information out of
