php7.0-common provides incompatible php-gettext [16.04 Xenial]
Hello Chip, or anyone else affected,
Accepted php7.0 into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php7.0/7.0.8-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
Please help us by testing this new package. See
As part of bug 1569609, I have created a microrelease-update test
version at: https://launchpad.net/~nacc/+archive/ubuntu/lp1569609, which
includes the fix for this bug. If anyone affected could also test that
version (7.0.8-0ubuntu1~ppa1), that would be very helpful!

Apologies for taking a long time to get back to this! I have submitted a
build to the PPA at:

backport the fix from Debian/Yakkety to the Xenial version. Once it
finishes building, @Chip or anyone else affected, could you
I have just sent Debian our small non-upstream delta in Xenial, and once
that is accepted, we can sync php7.0 in Yakkety. At that point, I will
backport the fix for gettext as mentioned here and will file an SRU bug.
