Could you please use http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and run the
following command once from a terminal by ensuring you have the package
xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching
Note that as a workaround you can install ubuntu with another nvidia
graphic card, install the nvidia driver and then put your GTX 980 ti
card.
