I'm testing lucid. On boot, and then change of theme, a noticed a crash
report pop up. As I went to report it, it tells me plymouth crashed, but
the problem cannot be reported: This is not a genuine Ubuntu package.

I also confirm that this is a bug.
Packages tried: plasma-desktop (native to kubuntu), kopete (included in
kubuntu-desktop), obex-data-server (included in kubuntu-desktop), amarok
(included in kubuntu-desktop).
(I've tried on numerous other packages and none work, so I'm assuming
this bug is
Same problem with Karmic, after bug to Rhythmbox, kernel ooops suggest
to report a critical problem, then fails to send the report file.

Same problem with Karmic, after upgrading from pre-beta directly to RC.
Kernel ooops suggest to report a critical problem, then fails to send the

I get this error when I try to run the Hardware Information program in
8.04 -- this is an upgrade from freshly-updated 7.10, I upgraded by
using the alt-CD distro disc, and I have every reason to believe this

The problem here is that the dbgsym packages are not an official part of
Ubuntu. They just have been made available by someone to support debugging. The
official Ubuntu packages don't know about the dbgsym packages and don't have
the conflict and or replaces directives set. Therefor Synaptic

only lets you choose certain things, if other things are already
installed and prompts to uninstall conflicting packages, but these
errors should not happen if the logic on synaptic is working correctly
because conflicting

basically same as python-apt-dbg
so it should either un-install the other or over-write this package, or mention
a conflict like add/remove programs does when you try to install a conflicting
package.

add debugging symbols to most of my install packages to help with bug
reporting and isolation.) I choose them, and installed the ones that
installed. I notice some did not install right (instead giving errors),
and that the

-dbgsym and -dbg packages. These packages cannot be used at the same time and
you should choose only one type of these. So it is normal to get error messages
when you install a dbgsym package when the corresponding
