package is in gutsy proposed. Can you activate the gutsy-proposed
repository in the synaptic package manager and install flashplugin-
nonfree version 9.0.115.0ubuntu4 ? You can do that by following these
steps :

I have tried a few things tonight. I did an sudo aptitude update then an sudo
aptitude install flashplugin-non free, and got this output:

Sorry for the delay, I have been busy and away from my computer for
several days (I have many emails).
I have that package installed through an update.
I uninstalled the version of flash that I had before and then went into
Firefox. This time, Firefox apparently gave me no way to install package

And then try to install flash again through firefox? This workaround

developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at
try uninstalling the package again:
sudo aptitude remove flashplugin-nonfree
restart firefox
navigate to a page containing flash content. firefox should give you a
yellow border on the top of the page concerning missing plug-in. click
it and install flash this way.
