Public bug reported: On rare occasions, I launch gnome-terminal, and the icon in the dash/dock is for another program. The menu at the top of the screen also identifies the running program as that other program. In the forthcoming screenshot, note that the menu says "VLC media player" and although there is a gnome-terminal icon in the dash, it's not active. Instead, the VLC icon corresponds to the gnome-terminal window. If the other program is also running, the dash shows that there are two windows of that program (ie two VLCs) by showing two dots on the icon. Unfortunately, this is so rare that I can't remember if it is only gnome-terminal/VLC. (I don't think so, but I am not sure.)
This is weird and wrong.
