I have experienced this problem as well on x86_64 with an Nvidia 8800GTX. I have enabled dual screens via NVidia X server settings (nvidia- settings) and the problem seems to be limited to bar 1 window on each of the X servers. A slowing of pop ups when clicking the Applications, Places etc

Just tested the beta iso. Problem still exists exactly as described above. I don't see that anyone of the Ubuntu QA or dev team is caring about it, but if this bug will slip into the final hardy release, possibly many people who install it on a system with (maybe only older) Nvidia cards and

I can confirm this bug. Tried it with fresh installation of hardy alpha4 and hardy alpha6 on system with Geforce4 GPU. For me, the window borders disappear as soon as I turn on effects (i.e. compiz). I only have window decorations when I set appearance to no effects (i.e. metacity). I also tried
