Matti: I can confirm that the attached patch fixes the problem on my
Thinkpad X41 (using thinkpad_acpi to enable/disable the built-in
bluetooth adapter, which makes it appear/disappear on the USB bus)

Could someone try the attached patch if it fixes the issue as I'm unable
to reproduce this. Patch applies cleanly with hardy's bluez-gnome
0.23-0ubuntu3.
It could also make sense to upgrade to the newest upstream version
(0.25) with FFe as changes have been relatively small, only translation

This seems a similar problem to the one I am experiencing in 8.04 Alpha
5; when I plug in a bluetooth dongle the bluetooth applet is started and
the icon appears in the notification area, when the dongle is
disconnected the applet crashes rather than simply shutting down
gracefully.
