It's not usplash related in my case. Without usplash I see the same
behavior
There's a 3 second stall (see line 392 of the attachment)
There's a 30 second stall (see line 471)

Hi Guys,
Jaap - can you comment about the length of the stalls you experience.
Also care to confirm if you see any substantial improvement when you
disable usplash as Luis mentions. If so, this would seem to be a
usplash bug rather than a kernel one -

I have the same problem. Turning off the splash screen stops this
behaviour. This is still on the last Hardy upgrade. Also, 1:50 min with
usplash; 50sec without.
