Public bug reported: Binary package hint: debian-installer
- installer refused to start as there was less than 31M free in =/boot= (50M partition) - I manually cleared out backup files so =/boot= had 34M free and restarted the installer, it was happy to proceed - installer downloaded *both* the *386* and *generic* kernels, overfilled =/boot=, was unable to generate initrd files. - only able to boot with *386* kernel until I manually cleared more space in =/boot= and regenerated initrd files. - NVidia driver only appears to have been made available for *386* kernel, my carefully composed dual-screen setup under 7.10 vanished and many restarts and reconfigures later, I have a replica of it, but only if I boot under *386*. If I boot into the *generic* kernel, it reconfigures X for me to use the vesa driver, which then persists if I boot back into the *386* kernel. ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Filled /boot and failed to generate initrd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207561 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
