Hardy recent update broke suspend to ram on Thinkpad T61p
I just want to confirm having encountered this problem with a T61p 6460
Ubuntu Hardy 64-bit. The solution proposed by Christian Iverson at :

.. worked perfectly for me and has solved this problem.

Hardy recent update broke
I have installed the latest nvidia drivers that come with envyng and the
suspend to ram and actually to disk started working much better. I've
been using it for 3 days now and have not had a single problem. Whereas
before, most of the time my X server would simply restart, now it is all
fine. It

I've tried all of the things listed in here and in various sites to sort
out this problem, but none of the solutions seems to help me. What I am
experiencing is resuming from suspend to ram works properly only about
30% of the time. During the successful resume, everything is working
fine,
I am about fed up with Ubuntu, only running it on my Asus eee PC 900.
Back to OpenSuSE on the T61p. Suspend/resume seems to work perfectly.

Bug #235284 seems to be relevant.
That patch didn't help me personally , but
# apt-get install hal-info=20080317+git20080318-1ubuntu4
# /etc/init.d/hal restart
solved the problem.

Confirmed here (alas) with an Acer Aspire 3104WLMi running Hardy (fglrx

quite fast, but after recent Ubuntu updates now suspending looks
normally fast (except once, trying to suspend ended in kernel panic)
but resuming takes

Hi
I thought I have managed to fix the suspend issues by using the acpi-support
script that Andy pointed out
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14044012/acpi-support . I've tried that script
and resuming from suspend no longer crashes computer. However, the successful
resume happens only once in 5
I have attached my acpi-support file (it contains modifications that
were mentioned on ThinkWiki.org).

I can confirm that the sudo /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force workaround works.
I do not even need the force parameter.
Resuming after suspending from KDE's start menu, from KDE's (Guidance)
Power Manager or closing the lid does not work.

For me the the script doesn't work. I've tried using force and without
force as well. No change in behaviour - the laptop resumes with black
screen. Only Alt+SysRq can reboot the laptop. Could anyone provide the
/etc/default/acpi-support file with working hibernate or suspend. I have

Same problem here. Only difference is my nvidia drivers are whatever is
got via the regular ubuntu repositories.
The machine is not locked after resume, the screen is just completely
black. I usually blindly hit CTRL-ALT-F1... wait for a few seconds for
the console (the screen is still black, but

I have noticed that my suspend has stopped working again! I've tried
suspending several times and did manage to resume from it. I can switch
between consoles, but can't enter anything, although several Fn+ keys
seems to work, like switching wireless on/off. I guess we'll have to
wait for the Hardy
Sadly, resume still does not work for me (bug 216727) on the same hw.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the system starts waking up from suspend
