Well, it is not an issue for me any more, since I have replaced DVD
drive cable, and installed proper UDMA cable. That solved the problem in
Hardy, still OK in Interipid.

I have managed to install Ubuntu 8.04 RC-1 by copying files to usb, but the
problem still persist in installed system, so this problem has nothing to do
with debian-installer package.
Seems that although my DVD Drive technically supports udma4 mode it works, at
this time,
