If you use a static IP in NetworkManager, but in the configuration for eth0, under Routes, click Use this connection only for resources on its network, is it any better? Enabling this should be keeping NM from setting the default gateway to use eth0 when connected (and/or manually configured). **

I have a similiar problem. eth0 wired (direkt connection to another pc) eth1 wireless (connection to a router thats attached to the internet) - configured by nwm Case 1: eth0 unplugged and eth1 is conencted - internet works Case 2: eth0 is plugged(and managed by nwm[static]) and eth1 is
